Once your champions are ready and trained your unit for the battle, you need to place them on the grid. So, their job is to protect the healers and other weak ones in your team. However, the primary job is to attack enemies while defending the weak points of your territory.
Once you place the unit or your team, the champions on your side will start fighting for you. Since this is an auto battler game, you don't need to control and make them fight. So, the champions start protecting their weak spots and attacking the enemies. However, if your champions survive till the end, you will be victorious.
